God created us to be in a perfect relationship with Him, but sin entered the world through one man, Adam, and now all of us are sinners, separated from God. (Romans 5:12)
Because God is perfectly holy and just, sin has a consequence: death, both physical and spiritual separation from Him. (Romans 6:23a)
But God, in His incredible love for us, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man, to live a perfect life and die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. (Romans 5:8)
Jesus rose from the dead, conquering sin and death, and offers us forgiveness and eternal life as a free gift. (Romans 6:23b, Romans 4:25)
All we need to do is turn away from our sin and, by faith, accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. (Romans 10:9-10)
Through faith in Jesus, we are declared righteous in God's sight and have peace with Him. (Romans 5:1)
